Purposeoftheposition:

TheVisualEffectsArtistimplements,undersupervision,videogamespecialeffectsinaccordancewithaproject’sartisticdirectionandproductiondeadlines.He/shehasstrongartisticskills,andanunderstandingofthetechnicalconstraintsonthetargetplatforms.

VisualArt:

•Usingavarietyofparticlesystems,createallaspectsofspecialeffectsartwork:

oParticlesystemtemplatesandanimation

oParticletextures

oParticlemodels(asnecessary)

oLighting

•Goodknowledgeofin-gamespecialeffects,including:

oSmoke

oExplosions

oFire

oWeather

oAtmospherics

oWater

oLight/Energy

oDamage

oFullscreenfilters

oPostprocessing

Qualifications

Training:

•Graduatedwitha4-yearBachelor’sdegree.

•Collegediplomaingame-orientedvisualeffects,orequivalenttraining

RelevantExperience:

•Minimum3to5yearsofexperienceinmodeling,texture,lightingandimageprocessingorotherrelevantexperience.

•MustbeproficientinPhotoshop,AfterEffects,orequivalenttools.

•Goodknowledgeof3DSMaxparticles/dynamicssystems,andspecialeffectscreation.

•GoodknowledgeofMicrosoftOfficesoftware(Outlook,Excel,Word,Visio,PowerPoint).

OtherSkills:

•Goodunderstandingofartfundamentals:colortheory,lighting,shape,composition,etc.

•Mustbecreativeandbeabletoadapttoavarietyofartstyles;

•Commitmenttopersonalandpeerdevelopmentandsharingbestpractices;
