Dutiesinclude:
(1)Supportsaccesstoandthecreationofaudio/visualmediaasdataandinformation;
(2)Providingprofessionalresourcesinavarietyofformats;
(3)Makegoodconnectionswithcollegesandfacultybyofferingdiverseresources;
(4)ImprovestudentachievementbyLibraryMediaPlatforminintegratinginformationskillsthroughoutthecurriculumandallsubjects;
(5)Collaboratesonandcontributestothecreation,development,implementation,andassessmentofinnovativemediaservicerelatedprojectsandservices.Organizes,evaluates,andsetsprioritiesforallaspectsofservicesfortheunitandidentifiesareasforimprovedservice.
(6)Oralandwritteninstructionanddirectionmustbeorganized,clearlycommunicated,andpresentedinapositivemanner.
(7)Excellentcustomerserviceskillsincludingtheabilitytoengage,interactandcommunicatewithpatience,clarity,tact,andcourtesyareessential.Regulareveningandweekendhoursrequired.
Theapplicantshouldhave:
1.Educationbackground
Master'sdegreeinLibraryandInformationScienceORequivalenteducationandexperiencerelevanttotheposition,advanceddegreesinrelevantfieldswillbegivenpreferenceinconsideration.
2.Workingexperience
(1)3+yearprofessionalexperienceworkinginMediaServicesorUserServicesrelateddepartmentinanacademicorresearchlibrary.
(2)Experienceprovidingassistancetolibrarymediaservicesforusers.
3.SkillsandQualifications:
(1)Generalunderstandingofthemissionandfunctionsofaresearchlibraryandtheinformationneedsofacademicusers.
(2)Abilitytomeetorexceedcustomerserviceneedsandexpectationsandprovideexcellentserviceinadirectorindirectmanner.
(3)Demonstratedabilitytosuccessfullyworkinateamenvironment.
(4)Demonstratedabilitytoworkcreativelyinarapidlychangingenvironment.
(5)Excellentinterpersonalandcommunicationskills.
(6)Demonstratedcommitmenttodiversityintheworkplaceorcommunity.
(7)Abilitytoidentifyissuesandproblemwithanalysisandsolutionsproposalsquickly.
